Insurgency: Day of Infamy

New World Interactive, the developers of the acclaimed online multiplayer FPS game Insurgency have just release a beta version of their newest mod on the steam workshop, Day of Infamy.  This is a total conversion mod, set in World War II, and will be developed with the help of the community.

As stated above, unlike other games, this particular mod is actually created by the developers, and is free.

You can listen to what some of the developers (and one of the voice actors!) has to say about the mod on their twitch channel here:

You can join the Insurgency Day of Infamy Beta here. You’ll need to opt in to Dog Red, Bastogne, and Bastogne Night in order to play and the mod itself.

Simply go to steam, right click on the properties of Insurgency, and then go to betas, and choose “beta -Pre-release testing branch”

Once you’ve done that, you have to simply go to your library, and the Insurgency game, and there you’ll see a the maps that you need to subscribe to.

You’ll have to choose all three, and then once you click on them, you have to choose “subscribe” and BOOM, you’re done.

The possibilities are endless, considering that the developers are relying on the community to add different factions, maps and weapons that would be possible with the steam workshop. The content will be curated by New World Interactive, but if the community modders make some cool shit, then they’ll add it. How cool is that? So check it out, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
