Most Anticipated Games of 2016

From the dying embers of lackluster 2015 we look ahead to 2016 with hope, hope that finally shit is going to get real, hope that Ubisoft is going to deliver on its promises, hope that these f@cking rigs we built with our bare hands are going to get punished by some motherfunking bitching gaming awesomeness. And what gives us this hope? these mofo’s right here……..

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming ARPG that was announced back in 2012, based on the Cyberpunk 2020 series of tabletop role-playing games. It’s currently being developed by those those busy boys and girls at CD Projekt RED (The Witcher, The Witcher 2 etc). Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a dystopian futuristic world in which ultra-modern technology co-exists with a degenerated human society. The game aims to be mature and ambitious, with character customization being strongly tied to the plot. It will have a non-linear story with different character classes, and both first-person and third-person perspectives. Along the way, we’ll get to visit some well-known locales from Cyberpunk 2020, including a combat zone over-run by gangs, the legendary Afterlife joint and the nostalgic Forlorn Hope. (Check out the awesome video here).

Homefront: The Revolution

Homefront: The Revolution: Is the the sequel to the vastly underrated Red Dawn-inspired 2011 release Homefront. After the successful occupation four years earlier by the North Korean Army (probably after the release of the The Interview – Topical Ed.), America is on it’s knees. Philadelphia, the birthplace of American Independence and moving Tom Hanks films, is now a ghetto, with surveillance drones and military patrols keeping the population at heel, crushing any dissent with force. Naturally, in the bombed-out streets and abandoned subways a resistance is forming, a guerilla force willing to fight for freedom against all odds (watch out Phil Collins)… Developers Crytek UK and Deep Silver are giving us an open world to explore, in which to learn the art of guerrila warfare, set up ambushes, infiltrate compounds and participate in unscripted fire fights. There’s going to be plenty of eye candy here, and it’s all being brought to life with dazzling CryEnginepowered visuals. Hopefully, now the franchise will finally get the love and support it needs to go toe-to-toe with the other AAA shooters out there…(check out more info on the game here)

Escape from Tarkov

Escape from Tarkov is an up and coming realistic hardcore online first-person action RPG/Simulator with MMO features and story-driven walkthrough. Imagine if DayZ, H1Z1 and Rust had a three way, THIS would be their post apocalyptic love child on steroids AND with better graphics!  In this game you can join one of two ideologically opposed factions, the  Private Military Corporations: corporate backed USEC or Russian-created BEAR.  There are story-driven quests  you can either complete alone or with your buds.  There’s a lot of micromanagement of stats as well apparently: constantly having to monitor your status by ensuring your blood pressure, toxication, stamina, tremors, and more are stable.  With almost 100 skills to level up and train the RPG element is strong with this one.  Upon death, you lose everything (and your killer gets it all!) and your back to square one. Form a clan with other players and hunt down vagabonds or create a trade network to reap enormous profit.
