XP4T meets Blacklight

XP4T put together a private match on the recently released steam game Blacklight: Retribution. Most of us had never played it before, so don’t expect too much! What you CAN expect is our brutally honest first impressions and general feelings about the game.
It actually took us awhile to actually play together, the servers were down, and only half of us could get in for some unbeknownst reason. In our initial frustration, we play are round of conquest on BF3.
Interestingly enough, we only really thought of playing Blacklight, due to the fact that a lot of us upgraded to Premium BF3 accounts…but not all of us. We still wanted to play together, but the old maps were just too boring, so we wanted a change. We figured we’d give Blacklight a shot!
Initially, we were pretty pissed off, because we were under the impression that we had to pay to be able to play with each other because the party settings were grayed out in our options, and according to the game, you need 1,000 zen (~$10.00/~€9.00) to start a ‘Clan’. But once we added each other as friends, were were quickly able to start a private match and were were in-game within about a 1minute.
OK, if you’re coming in from BF3 and have certain expectations regarding mobility, fluidity and by proxy immersion, you’re going to be disappointed. But if you approach the game thinking that you’re just gonna be playing some chintzy free-to-play game you’re in for a surprise, because Blacklight holds it own against a slew of box-games.
