XP4T is always on the look out for avid gamers who are interested in sharing their thoughts and ideas with the rest of the gaming community. We’re a small group of like-minded individuals that for the most part already work in the industry, and utilize our experience to bring you educated insight on all aspects of gaming. And, while we can’t offer any money at the moment, what we can give you is the chance to try out new releases (sometimes even before they’re released!) and have your words reach a wide audience. It’s a great way to break into gaming journalism or fatten up your existing portfolio.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have at least 5 years of gaming experience (primarily PC, but we do cover consoles too).
- Must be able to write clearly. Dissecting games can sometimes be overwhelming. If you’re able to intelligently analyse the pros and cons of a game, then you’re off to a good start. Being able to summarize your thoughts and present them in a clear, coherent manner that’s readable and entertaining is a big help too!
- Must be able to work to deadlines. While we’re by no means a totally professional outfit, we still strive to maintain an organized and structured work flow. Being able to trust your fellow writers to pull through is an essential part of team work, and being on the XP4T team.
You still there? Good! To apply, send a cover letter to master@xp4t.com with the subject line “XP4T Game Reviewer.” Tell us briefly about your experience and explain you think you’d be good here, and what you hope to gain from the experience. Finally, a résumé isn’t necessary, but we do require a writing sample. Send us a link to a video game review or feature that you’ve written (new or old). We’ll let you know if we’re interested, and eventually, make a short announcement here on the site too.
Thanks for considering being an XP4Ter!
